Thursday, April 1. 2004 OOOPS I did it again... (Yes, a crappy music quote for a crappy movie) I already told myself to stay away from Ben Stiller but looks like I didn't learn anything. First of all Along came Polly wasn't as bad as Duplex. I wasn't upset when the credits rolled while I really was enraged in the end of Duplex. Along came Polly is a romance/comedy that comes out completly without feelings which is the worst thing that ever can happen to a romance. It's a boring story that just ripples along and so I was wishing for a quick end that of course took ages to happen. The movie wasn't funny too of course, I mean it has Ben Stiller in it. Luckily in this script he didn't had to generate jokes every 2 seconds, he played a rather respectable business man that of course had some 'funny' problems that kept popping up now and than again but all in all it could have been worse. Jennifer Aniston is delivering an ok play. I never liked her too much so this is another typical role of her for me. Yes, I do love Friends but I still think she's the weakest character. The soundtrack of Along came Polly was no surprise aswell and was pretty uninspired, just nothing new. Its a mixture of the Soundtrack from Road Trip and Grosse Pointe Blank which are both very good but it just doesn't look very advantageous to reuse them again in a movie of a similar genre. This is just one of the movies you'll never miss if you skip it. So skip it.
