Serendipity

Serendipity PosterAnd for another time I was very surprised to search my blog and not to find an entry about a certain movie. Today: Serendipity. I've had a long day at work and since I didn't had the motivation to write a review about the countless movies waiting for a blog entry, I thought I'd watch a movie that I definitely had written about already. Well, that didn't work out and so Ithought I am gonna skip all those movies waiting on the list, in order to bring you my (very much belated) thoughts on Serendipity.

Jonathan : How'd you find this place?
Sara : I first came in because of the name: Serendipity. It's one of my favorite words.
Jonathan : It is? Why?
Sara : It's such a nice sounding word for what it means: a fortunate accident.
Serendipity is a fortunate accident, it's one of those movies that really touch me in some way. It's no big movie, and it seems like not many people share my opinion here but for me it comes with all a decent romance needs. Starting with one of my all time favourite actors John Cusack together with his companion Jeremy Piven. They played such a decent couple in Grosse Pointe Blank already and now continue to walk down the road of the winners. On the other side of John Cusack we have a breathtaking and beautiful Kate Backinsale and I mean a Kate Beckinsale before beeing tainted through movies like Underworld or Van Helsing. Those three, together with a cast of well chosen underparts, combined with a touching and innovative story manage to establish a permanent impression on me.
Kate Beckinsale
I don't know how often I've seen this movie so far but it has been quite a few times. While watching it today I realized that it still feels good to watch it and that it still manages to touch me in some way and if you ask me, this is what distinguishes a good romance from an average one. What makes this movie feel so special is the fact that there is no doubt that these two persons are made for each other and that they finally found the one person their ment to spend the rest of their lives with. (Sounding too familiar?) Yup, this might sound a little corny but what the heck, I really like this movie, it gives me a great feeling and owning the dvd gives me the oportunity to fall in love with them whenever I feel like it or just need to cheer myself up a little. Up for a romance? I'd recommend this one - it really works.

Must Love Dogs
My review of Must Love Dogs was an exception, an advance of a movie subjected to be watched with the next batch of 'Upcomging Movies'. But as my girlfriend and me were in the mood for a romance and my actual 'Upcoming Movies' list didn't come up with some
