I don't know through how much shit I dug through the last month, I think 50 movies is a fair guess - all that 2007 crap. At some point I entirely gave up to believe that something really remarkable would come up - and then I saw Juno. I know that people might disagree, but for me this is the one that rules it all and I doubt this is going to change anymore. This movie had me smiling and laughing out loud for nearly its entire running time. Seriously, my cheeks hurt. Oscars, this way please and don't you even dare to consider watching it dubbed.

Sometimes actors/actresses really manage to puzzle me and yesterday night I had to learn that for another time. Pictured above, modelling for no one less than famous Louis Vuitton is Scarlett Johansson. A 23 year old actress that you probably know and have come across quite a few times in these past few years. In my eyes she belongs to the the op of the pyramid of female acting right now and she has been there at least since her appearance in 2003s Lost in Translation.

There are more actors and actresses on top of the pyramid along with her and depending on what kind of character you need for your movie Scarlett might or might not be the right one to get, but in case she is the right person for the role in question, she definitely is the best you can get.

So realizing that and having seen movies like the just named 'Lost in Translation', Girl with a Pearl Earring, A Love Song for Bobby Long, The Black Dahlia or nearly any other movie of her cinematic past, I have to say that I do believe she is walking on a path that will lead her to eternal fame and glory.

This is clearly underlined by her contract with Louis Vuitton if you ask me, it matches perfectly. Even though she is very young, she already has enough credibility to roll with the really big fish.

Okay, so keeping all this in mind I was pretty dumbfounded when I watched The Nanny Diaries yesterday. It isn't an incredibly bad movie by all means, it's just so shallow and meaningless that I just don't get it why Scarlett would agree to take part in such an endeavor. This can't be good for her reputation at all, I mean it's ridiculous - WHY? Is it all about the money? Is she too young to realize what she's doing? Is it a favour she owed someone?

If you ask me there should be a passage inside her contract with Louis Vuitton that states that as long as she's affiliated with them she is obligated to turn down scripts like that, because it permanently damages the firms reputation.

To be frank with you, I don't care that much about Louis Vuitton and their reputation, but I do care some about Scarlett and even though I don't believe it will damage her reputation permanently or anything, I just don't get why she did that. Anyone?

There has been quite a bit of critic about this movie, I tried it anyways but only to figure out that it actually is as weak, unsatisfying and not to mention annoying as everyone has been saying it was.

Shooter is a weak movie and so is Commando, nevertheless there is something about those movies that somehow makes them watchable, at least once.

Then again if your unable to enjoy watching a one-man-army eliminating dozens of people there really isn't a point in approaching this at all.

It's good to see what differences couples manage to overcome, it somehow makes you believe that once you found the right partner to share your life with - eventhough it might be complicated - in the end it will all work out well.

On the other hand one could probably argue that this is just a movie, but I really don't second that.

I saw this more or less by accident, I enjoyed it though and not only because one of the leading roles drove an old and absolutely lovely BWM 3.0 series Coupe.

Intresting little movie, entertaining and at times even exciting. Worth the watch, but certainly not more than once.

I had to see this mainly for the sake of him, him, him and her.

It looked great, it felt great and I loved all the actors, it was the storyline that killed it for me, I really didn't get along with it, at all. Maybe next time...

Bruce is getting old and I think this last part didn't do the other three parts any justice. I guess it was okay and since there haven't been any other intresting action movies lately people tend to overrate this movie.

A welcome diversion, but nothing like the other three parts.

I always wondered what Deja Vu actually would be about after having seen the trailer several times. Just so you know it's about time travelling.

I didn't thought it went too well, entertaining yes, but that's about it. I enjoyed the last two minutes best.

an·noy·ing - causing irritation or annoyance

I'd lie if I'd say I was up for anything much more demanding than this through the last months, nevertheless I have to say that its shallowness truly was tough to sustain.

Watching movies like this makes you realize that things can only get better from here on. Maybe I should try something a little more demanding next time.

There are two ways one can aproach watching Hollywoodland. One is the uninformed way, blinded by the cast, overlooking that there actually is a line on the poster that states "Based on a true Story" and the second is the informed way, the way you will walk once you're done reading this. The true story that 'Hollywoodland' is based upon, is the story of the mysterious death of George Reeves, the first actor to play Superman in the television series Adventures of Superman. Now that you're aware of that, you're already off to a way better start than I was yesterday night.

For the complete running time of 'Hollywoodland' the movie tells two stories in parallel. One story tells about the living days of Reeves up to the day he dies and the second one starts where the first one ended - with a private investigator, researching his mysterious death. The movie doesn't try to hide anything by the way these storylines are connected, it's rather obvious what is happening and still I have to admit that it took me quite a while to realize how they fit together.

Up to today the death of Reeves remains a mystery and this movie doesn't try to solve it. There are three theories regarding his death and throughout the complete running time of 'Hollywoodland' we'll get to know each of these theories. While this is an intresting aproach, it also is pretty unrewarding. There are a lot of things happening inside the movie that are never explained and frankly don't seem to make much sense, but the fact that it actually happened that way allows the moviemakers to just leave it at that.

Eventhough the storyline is a little bit bumpy, the cast at times manages to make up for parts of it. I enjoyed the roles of both Adrien Brody and Diane Lane who I both haven't had seen for quite a while. The role of Ben Affleck though didn't quite seem to work out for me and I am not entirely sure why. Maybe it's just the style of the 1950's that doesn't seem to fit him too well.

If you're planning to enjoy watching 'Hollywoodland' my best advise is to learn as much as possible about the death of George Reeves beforehand, otherwise there is a good chance that this movie might turn out to be a rather exhausting and unrewarding experience, that leaves way too many questions unanswered to actually enjoy it. As you know I had no clue about all that before and for most of the runningtime I didn't quite know what to think about everything that was happening...
